A tribute to Prak: He always fought with honor, never resorting to name calling, excuses, or poor sportsmanship. He never felt the need to compete in a ladder, or other means- he just knew he was good, no need to prove it. He humbled us all, showing how a lightly armored small car could take down the biggest opponents. Prak was one of the founders of STP and he will be sorely missed. I76 needs more players like him. Hopefully, I82 and other circumstances will see his return. Goodbye, friend. We'll miss you.

Ah, you know it's going to be a good day when you find 2 hacks hosting a "No Hax Only" game, and proceed to burn and .45 them before breakfast! I love it!

It's been awhile, but four members of STP! met last night on I76.net for a
good old fashioned romp. Toecheese, Aquarius, Styles, and Prak drove out to the Salt Flats
and blew some stuff up (well, mostly blew each other up <>). Hopefully we can do it

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Happy halloween to all! In the spirit of the holiday (and just for giggles), I hunted some
hacks today, and introduced them to some fire. Thanks goes out to the really stupid (and
not fireproof) hacks named 'inforcer', 'Flesh', and 'j-dog'. These morons made my holiday
fun!
Bruiser is now up to #5 on the AVA Combat Ladder! Paradise is up to #22! Way to go, guys!
Having some problems with the new 4.0 site, seems that one of the pages is giving Netscape some kind of
fit. The site works very well when viewed with Internet Explorer. Go figure! Until then,
if you have Netscape 4.0+, don't click on the members page, or if you do, just hit reload
a couple of times until it works right.

Vigilante's Paradise will be shut down until sometime in September or until I'82 comes out, Covak wasn't sure which. This leaves I76.com as the main source of daily news, if you can take it. What is with that "kiddies" thing....?
The Interstate '82 Page has some new stuff. The graphics look good, let's hope the internet play is improved as well.
If you are looking for a good game, [DV] Dougery has been hosting "Free Beer N/H" on I76.net sometimes. The couple of times I wandered in I had a fine time. Yep, I still play this moldy old game sometimes, but occasionally I change my name and go cruising around in a slightly cheesy manta (shame on me! <>)

A little warning: if you play on I76net, be prepared for a huge cheese-fest (if you find a
non-hack game at all, that is). Some games I've been in lately are just full of mantas
with as many missles as wheels. I'm still laughing at the dude I saw with 3 clusters, who,
every time he actually tried to drive, managed to cluster himself to death. He was
averaging about 3 to 1, killing himself 3 times for every 1 kill he managed to get.

Makes me wonder: take a real pretty box, with a great concept, tons of hype and some
screenshots, but NO GAME, NO CD, just EMPTY AIR, and sell it! Promise a patch (or an
actual program) at some nebulous future date, and VIOLA!, you are a big software company!
Cut out those nasty middle-men (AKA The Game's Programmers), and spend all that money you
might have to pay them on advertising, product positioning, and shelf space at Wal-Mart.
And of course don't bother with customer support or anything like that, since after the
rubes (AKA The Customers) have paid for the box, you'll have the money! Time for a nice
vacation, and bonuses for all the execs!
(The members of STP! apologize for the above rant, it seems Prak had a psychotic
episode after his Nitro game crashed for the third time in 30 minutes. He has been given a
very sour lemon to suck on, and should be well again soon.)

Saw a post on the Disco Vigilante's
message board from Activision. Seems that they are STILL working on that Nitro patch, but
that the going is SLOW. Maybe they should have said that the glaciers move faster than the

Speaking of I'82, seems that The Grand Funk Highway [GFH] picked up the I82.com domain name, which caused some hard feelings over at I76.com. Harsh words, threats of lawsuits, hmmmm.... sounds like fun!

Actor/comedian Phil Hartman was killed today. He spent eight years as a star of "Saturday Night Live," and Hartman became a star of "News Radio," in 1995, playing imperious anchorman Bill McNeal. Hartman was famed for his impersonations of leading political and celebrity figures, especially President Clinton. Hartman also supplied the voices for several characters on the cartoon series "The Simpsons." He will be missed. :(

Got a bunch of news today, so here goes:
Vic Ferrari is leaving the gang Killer Wheels, to pursue other challenges.
Styles and I (Prak) ran into R66 The Jaff and R66 Rad of the Route 66er's in an AVA Division 15 fight, and we all had a good time doing team duels. They are both very good (of course!), but our man Styles was looking just awesome!

Several I'76 players have added the tag [ILN] to thier names. Why? Good question! It seems that one of our fellow I'76er's got his wife interested in the game, and she started playing under the name Lucidity. She liked the game, and could have been a skilled player. Unfortunately, she got real sick, real fast, of all the LOSERS, LAMERS, and LOUD-MOUTHS, of which there are too many. She has hung up her keys, never to drive the Southwest again. How many good players and good people do not play this game for that very reason? Sad. Anyway, [ILN] stands for "In Lucidity's Name", in rememberance of this lost one, and all the other potential I'76er's who got sick of the crap.

For all the Jedi Knight playing members, here is a list of game commands that didn't make
it into the manual. To use them, hit the "t" key, followed by the
"tab" key, then type in the command, then hit the "enter" key. Some
only work in multi-player games.

Today is the first birthday of Vigilante's
Paradise. Our congratulations go out to this long lived and very useful site.
It was put up here once before <>, but for those who don't know, or might have missed it, you can still get the Tank and Helicopter in Nitro. Make a Rattler variant, and name it "knat" or "retpocileh" (that's "tank" and "helicopter" spelled backwards). You can also try "hotair" and "thetruthishere", which are new to the Nitro Pack.
